2017 Symposium on Machine Intelligence and Data Analytics (MIDA)
15-18, December 2017 at NCUT, Beijing, China

    MIDA’17-Call for Papers

MIDA is the forum for leading research works on all aspects of machine intelligence and data analytics, including machine leaning techniques, pattern recognition, data mining, signal processing and big data analysis. In the context of the workshop, machine intelligence encompasses works on concurrent leading techniques in machine learning, especially deep learning techniques and their applications. Also, big data analysis in different areas including computer vision, health, cybersecurity and educational systems will be another focus. Given the rise of deep learning and big data analysis, the first MIDA is particularly interested in work that addresses new techniques, and tools that attempt to improve big data analytics, and work towards improved intelligent systems. Specific topics of interest include (but are not limited to):

    Deep learning techniques and applications

    Big data analysis

    Signal processing

    Robust face recognition

    Data driven control

    Cyber security

    Educational data analysis

    Clustering and classification techniques

    Randomised algorithm

    Data compression and signal sampling

    Object tracking

    Data mining and knowledge discovery

    Computer vision and image understanding

Programming tools for parallel and heterogeneous systems

Papers should report on original research relevant to machine intelligence and data analytics, and should contain enough background materials to make them accessible to the artificial intelligence and signal processing research communities.

All abstract submissions must be made electronically through the conference website. Abstract must include contact information, the full list of authors and their affiliations, and a description (100-600 words) of the anticipated content of the paper. Submissions will be judged on correctness, relevance, originality, significance, and clarity.

Publications: All accepted papers will be selectively recommended for publications in the following four international journals:

    Information Sciences (SCI)
Numerical Algebra, Control and Optimization (NACO) – AIMS (EI)
International Journal of Machine Intelligence and Sensory Signal Processing (Google Scholar)
TELKOMNIKA (Telecommunication Computing Electronics and Control) (EI)

    Important dates (tentative):

    Abstract submission: October 5, 2017
Notification of acceptance: November 10, 2017
Final submission date: November 20 2017
